Foursquare update brings new first for BlackBerry - Logged-Out Explore feature

Earlier today we let you know that Foursquare was updated to v5.5. What we didn't know at the time was what new features were included in this release. This all-new version, we have learned, now comes with something completely new and a first for BlackBerry users called Foursquare Explore. Explore allows users to find all the best places nearby without having to sign-up or sign-in. That's right, even those without accounts up can view recommendations for nearby places and top picks without being required to log in.

Foursquare Explore

  • Customers will now be able to search for all of the best places nearby with photos, tips, hours of operation, and menus -- features that were previously only available to Foursquare account holders.
  • With more than three billion check-ins and 30 million tips, Foursquare can put forth recommendations based on what's popular in the neighborhood, where the experts go, the time of day, and more.
  • Foursquare becomes even more powerful once a customer signs up for Foursquare and begins to check-in. Customers that have signed-in can enjoy a more customized experience based on what they like, where their friends have been, compete for mayorships and badges, as well as enjoy money-saving specials and discounts.
  • RIM has been working closely with Foursquare to provide customers with a quick and convenient way to start searching for places immediately.

Foursquare with Logged-Out Explore can be downloaded by any BlackBerry device running OS 5 or higher at the link below. Be sure to let us know what you think about this latest upgrade in the comments below.
